 Our Regulars

Moreneta Rossa is the very first beer we ever made and remains one of our most popular. This Belgian Blonde ale is unique because we use orange peel and American Simcoe hops for dry hopping, which give a very aromatic, herbal & pine aroma. We also use locally sourced orange blossom honey from the El Perelló region, which is noted less for its sweetness and more for its crisp fruitiness. This balance between the fruitiness of the honey and the bitterness and zest of the hops has resulted in a multi-award winning beer: Moreneta Rossa has won Gold Medal in the prestigious Brussels Beer Challenge, as well as Gold Medal in the Concurso Internacional de Cervezas Artesanas (CICA). ABV is 6.5%.

Moreneta Blanca is a light Belgian Witbier but, as always with our beers, there’s a unique twist. Traditional Belgian wheat beers use orange peel and coriander seeds. While we also use wheat malt and orange peel, we decided to replace the coriander seeds with locally sourced bay leaves. This gives our Moreneta Blanca a distinctive herbal and aromatic undertone. Originally intended as an ode to summer, it has amassed a 4-season cult following! ABV is 4.5%.

For this beer we were inspired by the Catalan sailor drink "rom cremat" (literally “burnt rum”) where rum is infused with coffee, cinnamon and orange peel! Moreneta Bruna is a Belgian brown ale but this only tells half the story! Unlike its Belgian cousins, its refreshing bitterness makes it a popular beer throughout the year. The roasted malt gives a hint of coffee, while a small amount of cinnamon provides complexity. At the same time, the orange peel keeps our Bruna fresh and aromatic. It is a multi-award winning beer: it has also won Gold Medal in the prestigious Brussels Beer Challenge! ABV is 5.5%.

Cañas are a strong part of local drinking culture, and we could not open our brewpub without having a perfect pilsner for the punters! Enter: Pils Parlament, named after our beloved leafy and trendy carrer Parlament where we are located. Typically for a Belgian Pils, we also use wheat in our recipe, making it more flavoursome. As it’s a bottom-fermentation beer, it takes the longest to make out of all our beers. Our patience is rewarded when we see it served straight from the serving tank! ABV is 5%.

“Is it an IPA?” people ask us. They only have to try it to know it is! Ceci n’est pas une IPA is our very own surrealist IPA in honour of the beloved Belgian painter, Rene Magritte, made with unmistakably Belgian malts. The delicious bitterness comes from dry hopping with Hüll Melon hops, which give our brew distinctly fruity qualities, such as melon and strawberry. True to Belgian IPAs, ours has a dry finish. ABV is 6%.

Our Seasonals

A seasonal beer for spring, Saison Jordi was our own tribute to Sant Jordi day, celebrated in Catalonia as a day of love, with couples exchanging a book and a rose! True to the Belgian tradition, we used Belgian Belle Saison spring yeast and added an appropriate local touch: rose petals! We also added Catalan Samsó wine must (carignan grapes) from Vida del Penedès. The result was a strong (7.8%), complex yet surprisingly refreshing beer!

Surtidor WinterTonka.png

WinterTonka was our very first seasonal winter ale and helped to make the cold months cozy! Following in the steps of Belgian Bière de Noël-Kerstbier traditions, the WinterTonka was a dark, strong (8%) and spicy ale. What made this beer even more special was the addition of two spices: nutmeg and the trendy tonka bean, popular among pastry chefs the world over. The result was a complex, bitter-sweet ale, with notes of vanilla and caramelized almonds.

Inspired by the popular rauchbier of Germany, where our brewer learned his craft, La Fumée is an amber beer where the smoked malts are the protagonists. Initially meant as a one-off seasonal beer for Autumn, this show stopper, 6.5% beer reappeared the year after and has since demanded a regular spot during the Autumn months!

SantonIPA was our very first collaboration beer, brewed together with Albert, the head brewer of gypsy brewery Ratpenat. The inspiration for this beer was Albert’s residency in the east of the United States, where he discovered the secrets of the trendy NEIPA style (New England IPA). Brewed in our brewery, SantonIPA was a 5.6% light, aromatic and fruity NEIPA, dancing to the tunes of the freshest lemon peel. So popular did it prove that we had to make one batch after the other!

A celebration for our 2-year anniversary, Sai2son was our second seasonal Spring beer. During its experimental development, we discovered how this beer was transformed with the addition of Sichuan pepper and orange blossoms! The result was a light, aromatic, sweet & sour nectar! ABV is 5,7%.

ABAT was our second seasonal ale for winter, inspired by the most authentic of Belgian beer traditions: the Belgian Abbey. This Strong Belgian Dark Ale (9% ABV) had notes of coffee, ripe plums and vanilla, and alluded to the emblematic Sant Antoni Abbey round the corner from our Barna Brew brewpub. You could forgive anyone who, after a glass or three of our ABAT, felt summer had suddenly arrived!
